Four years of Fiber Experts: from start-up to hundred-million-euro company

Started four years ago as a start-up, today one of the driving forces behind digitalization in fibre optic expansion: Fiber Experts celebrates its birthday in June 2025 – and is expanding into the energy sector

Düsseldorf, 17 June 2025 – Founded in June 2021, Fiber Experts pursued a platform approach right from the start and is now one of the leading providers in the digitalization of fiber optic expansion. The Fiber Experts platform connects network operators and construction companies and offers all parties involved near real-time transparency on construction progress. This makes fiber optic expansion faster and significantly more efficient.

Since its foundation, the company has developed dynamically: The number of employees has grown from the original six to around 200 at present, and Fiber Experts also has its own teams for civil engineering work and house connections following the acquisition of a construction company in 2023. At the same time, the platform has been steadily expanded and now has over 50 construction partners. Since 2021, the company has expanded over 330,000 households (“Homes passed”) and completed over 1,800 civil engineering kilometers. This makes Fiber Experts one of the leading companies in turnkey fiber optic expansion. In 2024, Fiber Experts broke through the EUR 100 million revenue mark for the first time – proof of the trust that network operators and construction partners place in the digital construction platform.

Think disruptive, act standardized

A milestone: the 360-degree monitoring system inseyet, developed jointly with netzkontor nord, which was launched in spring 2025. It enables complete, seamless real-time monitoring of the entire fiber optic expansion process, ensuring greater efficiency and fewer errors. In future, artificial intelligence (AI) integrated into inseyet will help to identify potential errors on the construction site at an early stage. For example, it can identify insufficient trench depth, incorrectly placed ball markers or bending radii that are too tight. The AI notifies the construction partners immediately so that corrections can be made while the trench is still open. This prevents costly rework and unnecessary delays.

Expansion into the energy infrastructure

In addition to fiber optic expansion, Fiber Experts is now also expanding into the energy sector. As in broadband expansion, the market volume in the energy infrastructure sector is high, the structures are decentralized and there is a great need for coordination with municipalities and local partners. Digitalization and Fiber Experts’ platform approach offer great potential here to make processes more efficient and accelerate expansion.

By entering the energy sector, Fiber Experts is specifically tapping into a strategically relevant growth area. The structural parallels and proximity to existing customers – especially network operators that are active in both areas – facilitate scaling and strengthen the company’s position as a cross-industry digitalization partner.
